The gorgeous Saturday...
09.11.2008
"Every single one of us, every unique one, under the single spotlight "
0800-1200
Love this day, filled with a plethora of activities and events, isn' it lovely?
Initially, rl and i wanted to help the Chinese dancers with their make-ups, but i was late and it was almost time for us to gather with the other prefects, so we slowly made our way there.
And yeah, i was assigned duties at the VIP registration area with other lovely prefects, and it was then that i realised that i was melting beneath the ominously warm blazer. After what seemed like eternity, i headed towards the back stage, to get ready the numbers and the bouquet of flowers(to be presented to the VIPs).
One adorable little girl, Jing Ying, has left a deep impression on me, given her natural cuteness, she's definitely an angel. Joan, has kept me accompanied throughout the dry runs and the actual ceremony, i admire her dimples. As expected, everything turned out smoothly, like a smooth-sailing journey :) we managed to go up on stage to present the tokens and bouquet of flowers to the VIPs as planned, i presented it to Ms Teo( Supt of N3) she's a jovial, carefree lady. Afterwards, the opening of the ceremony rang a bell, and "it's party time! "
First, HArmonica on Song performed two pieces of music, which were balm to our ears. Band, without any disappointment, played two extremely nice pieces of music, namely, "Living on a prayer" which was when the drummer of the band caused me to stand in awe, like all other pupils standing behind him. Love all the dances put up by the three different cultural dance groups, especially Chinese dance :) i have to say that their long skirts were indeed too heavy for them to hold on to, but somehow, they got the hang of it and danced their very best, a thunderous applause for them.
Dinah, with her mellifluous voice, touched every single one of us who was fixing our eyes on her. Her voice, indeed, has got what it takes to be the future Singapore idol, or maybe better? (I'm quite certain though) Somewhere in the middle, i spotted the track&field coach and greeted him, he was there, puzzled over where to head to, so i directed him, and requested him to play the games, one of them to fish up the question from the "pond" well, it's so cute...
But however, i abruptly ran off to return back to my "bodyguard" role (and i felt bad after that, for not telling the coach that Joan and i were leaving) We trailed the VIPs, tailing them around, to see if they need our help. It was fun trying out how to play netball, under the guidance of some netball friends, they were really good at it. Soccer was fun, but kicking the ball hurt my toes very much( cos there's no such thing as using your toes to kick the ball *embarrassed*) Visited various booths to see what interesting things they have, i was not disappointed...
