As usual, i headed down to town for my latin dance lesson on this windy afternoon, while for my sis, she went for her first ballet lesson, sort of like, a dream-come-true as her hectic schdule has prevented her for doing so before.
Mr Mario was away and i've been thinking if he's going to make a come back or not, but i hope it's a "yes". Gladys was ill today, and her absence somehow made me relief. Ms Sharon, a student cum instructor, taught us today. While Mr Mario and Gladys emphasize more on the routine part, and a little on technique, Ms Sharon is totally on the technique part.
She managed to polish up our routine and moves, which made me more determined to get the hang of it:) Her objectives to every move- sharpness&cleanliness of actions, no lifting of foot, hip movement, fast&crispy moves.
It was great to start off this year with this technique lesson, as i get to learn more about the rules and regulations stated and expected for every move. I had indeed learnt alot from her, in other words, all along, i thought finishing the routine with no flaws was good enough, but somehow after this lesson, i thought that other than your routine, your technique counts alot more too. Now,after knowing my weaknesses, i shall add more oil to it, sounds great huh...
I just learnt that one of my dance mates got into SOTA, using her latin, isn;t it cool? So she will be doing both ballet and latin, for which, ballet is a must for every dancer. That school totally rocks:) maybe i've chance if getting into that school... a dream-that-will-never-come-true
